3rd February 2013
Windsurfing: El Medano
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: F7
Surf / Sea State: wild
Air Temperature: 22C
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: Sunny
Max Speed: 0
Distance Covered: 0

Last day at El Medano was wild wind and sea blowing F7in the morning just a bit more than the 2nd. Both mornings average size sail was 4.2 and rough sea. Thought about it for 2hrs but - didn't sail and just watched from Flashpoint bar.
Slalom guys Andreas Cucchi and co were hammering the slalom course with 90L Isonics and 6.3 Race sails, which made me envious (he said they average 36-38kts) but dont use GPS all the time, so as not to concentrate on "speed", but more on the slalom course, the other guys and gybe technique.
He said he dropped his boom 50cm to maintain control, long lines, and mast foot at the front. (Wish I could do that)
They must have covered 12-15 laps non stop racing.
Paul Maker and Ian went out 4.0 and said it was great.
I still wasn't tempted, nor was Lord Swain.
I had man flu for 3 days (Maker dose all of us with a stinker), but if not both - yesterday and today everything settled late afternoon, about 4pm and the sea was much flatter and you could use 5.0 and slalom board, perfect for me, but alas sickness and flight home stop that.
My GPS had a water leak 3 days previous and no longer works, so expensive, but didn't have to pay for stitch up bd damage. All in all a good trip, except for my man flu.
